Roberta Annan Scholarship 2023 for African in UK

The African Fashion Foundation is now welcoming applications for the Roberta Annan Scholarship at Condé Nast College of Fashion and Design, UK. The aim of the scholarship is to support the talented and emerging fashion connections of businesses, young people and media talent from Africa, to help them financially to support their higher education.

The Scholarship will cover the expenses of students and funding for the Vogue Fashion Foundation Program and BA (Hons) degree in Fashion Communication and Industry Practice at Condé Nast College of Fashion and Design for successful applicants.

Applications begin with entry into the Vogue Fashion Foundation’s one-year program. After successful completion of this, and an additional successful graduate interview, the student is expected to advance to the BA (Hons) Fashion Communication & Practice Industry (2 years faster) undergraduate degree.

About Roberta Annan Scholarship

The African Fashion Foundation is a non-governmental organization that empowers designers and artisans from Africa and its diaspora to succeed in the global fashion industry. They provide opportunities for professional development and education in partnership with older actors in the fashion industry to support the success and advancement of Africa’s creative economy.


Eligibility

This is a competitive scholarship program that aims to support those with the greatest financial need, talent in the right fields, and the potential for the future.

The Roberta Anan Scholarship is open to applications from people from the following Sub-Saharan Africa countries:

Angola,  Botswana, Benin, Burkina Faso,  Seychelles, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Central African Republic,  Comoros, Congo Democratic Republic, Congo Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Chad, Côte D’Ivoire, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gabon, Burundi, Gambia, Ghana , Guinea, Mauritius, Guinea Bissau, Keyna, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, South Africa Sudan, Malawi, Mali,   Mozambique, Mauritania, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sao Tome and Principe,  Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa,  Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

The general entry requirements for this subject are GCSE English and Maths in Grade C (4) or higher, or similar international qualifications. This in most cases could be one of the following:

  • High School Certificate Examination,
  • Higher credit National Diploma,
  • National Certificate,
  • Higher National Diploma with credits

The College is looking for students who will actively contribute to their study and take the initiative in their work and should have a deep interest in pursuing a career in Fashion Communication.
