Global UGRAD Exchange Program in the USA 2023, an initiative of the United Nations, provides students with an opportunity to study abroad in the USA. Launched by the United Nations University in 1992, Global UGRAD helps promote peace and cooperation among people of all nations through the fostering of intercultural dialogue, mutual understanding, tolerance and solidarity. This initiative offers students a chance to broaden their worldview and learn about different cultures while sharing their own culture with others.

Eligibility Criteria:

The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program is a highly competitive, merit-based program that provides one semester scholarships to outstanding undergraduate students from around the world.
To be eligible, students must:

  • Be enrolled full-time at a college or university during the 2021-2022 academic year;
  • Have completed at least two years of undergraduate study by the start of the program;
  • Be 18-25 years old on August 1, 2021;
  • Not have previously participated in a long-term study abroad program (i.e., longer than three months);
  • Not have already earned a bachelor’s degree; and
  • Be proficient in English.
